This 118° point, high speed steel
drill performs well in a wide variety of ferrous metal drilling applications.
The black surface treatments prevents chip welding and increases abrasion
resistance.

Type 240-UB Ultra Bor™ Super Premium
Special Hi-Molybdenum tool
steel. 135° split point for fast penetration and accurate starting without a
center punch. Precision ground point, body, clearance and drill diameter for the
ultimate in accuracy and performance. Body and clearance are gold surface
treated for maximum lubricity. Drills are heat treated at 2185° F and then
nitro-carburize finished at 950° F to be measurably harder than high speed
steel. Space aged nitro-carburized steel withstands substantially higher
drilling temperatures while maintaining sharpness. Recommended for use in work
hardening grades of stainless steel and other hard metal drilling applications.
Sizes smaller than #52 have non-split points.

lubricity. Heavy duty construction, 135° split point, no center punch needed
- will not walk. Gyrodial Torsion flute and land construction yields
exceptional performance in deep hole drilling applications. Recommended for
a wide range of steels, castings and other hard metal drilling applications.
The cobalt steel is very abrasion and heat resistant. These drills will
drill 12 diameters deep or more without drill removal to clear chips. Feed
rates may be twice that of standard flute drills.
