Rustlick offers a variety of machining and grinding fluids.
Designed primarily to lubricate and cool, these fluids reduce
heat build-up during the machining or grinding process. This
prevents the burning of parts, reduces distortion in the
workpiece, extends tool life and allows maximum chip loading for
faster production. Our experts can help you determine which
coolant is best for your operation. |

Formulated
with oils and emulsifiers,
water-soluble oils combine the lubricity of cutting oils with the
cooling ability and economy of water dilution. In addition to yielding
finer finishes, water-soluble oils are also compatible with virtually
all types of machinery and metals. They prevent rusting by providing a
thin layer of oil film, and prevent rancidity and extend sump life
through the use of biocides.

Semi-synthetic machining and grinding fluids are synthetic-based
coolants that typically contain some oil for added lubricity and
corrosion protection. This makes them ideal for light-to-moderate
machining and grinding applications. Semi-synthetic coolants also
offer many of the same advantages as synthetics.
Full
synthetic coolants utilize a soluble combination of synthetic
lubricants and do not contain any petroleum additives. Synthetics
offer a number of outstanding advantages, including extended sump life
and exceptional performance. In addition, synthetics offer superior
cooling capabilities for extended tool life and reduced heat
distortion. Synthetics also repel tramp oil and make its removal easy
and less costly. See our Comparison Chart for lubricity and rust prevention values.
Biostable products control bacterial and fungal growth, resulting in
level pH performance and reduced biological degradation. Frequent
dumping of the sump because of rancidity is eliminated, and no
additional biocides are needed. Biostables are available in
water soluble,
semi-synthetic, and
synthetic formulations.
Rustlick
606 is a
moisture-absorbing
corrosion preventative which can be applied to porous, wet surfaces,
reducing surface preparation time. It leaves a light, oily,
transparent film on all metals during indoor storage which can be
easily removed by wiping, alkaline washing, or vapor degreasing.
Rustlick 606 is excellent for porous or configured metals.
Available in 12oz. aerosol cans, 5 gallons, and 55 gallons.
Rustlick 631 is a
moisture-displacing
corrosion
preventative
designed for long-term use in environments which may include acid and
salt vapors. It spreads into scratches and pores to displace moisture,
leaving a light, oily film, and is easily applied and removed,
non-conductive, and safely used on electrical parts. Available in
12oz. aerosol cans, 1 gallons (4 per case), 5 gallons, and 55
gallons.
Rustlick B is a water-soluble corrosion inhibitor designed to
prevent in-process rusting of ferrous metals. It leaves a non-oily,
dry, microscopic protective film and can be used for hydrostatic
testing and vibratory finishing. Biodegradable, transparent, and
non-irritating, Rustlick B is not subject to bacterial
decomposition or rancidity and does not require removal prior to
painting, plating, or assembly. Available in 5 gallons and 55
gallons.
